Built in South Texas. Came up small, got picked on — the gym became my safe zone.

Never-quit is the whole résumé: football, basketball, baseball then — runner, mountain biker, endurance athlete, river surfer now.

Fitness starts in the mind. Get strong in your mind first — the rest follows.

Enduro™ Strength & Conditioning: 45 seconds on, 25 to recover. No rep counting. Your pace — the clock catches everyone.

Enduro™ Strength & Conditioning

My signature Enduro™ Strength & Conditioning system. I don't count reps — and neither will you.

Try it free — book your Jump Start

Every session I coach is built on one formula: 45 seconds of work, 25 seconds of rest. I call it Enduro™ Strength & Conditioning, because it builds strength and endurance at the same time — a strength workout and a conditioning session in about 30 minutes.

Where the 45 came from: nine reps at a controlled five-second tempo takes 45 seconds, and that's damn near failure on a real strength set. So I took the counting out and kept the time. Your pace is your choice — fast or slow — as long as you're moving and under tension. A beginner and an athlete can train side by side in the same workout, because the clock scales it for each of them.

Why it catches everyone: 25 seconds of rest isn't enough to fully recover, so every round starts where the last one ended. The weight doesn't change — but by round four, it's a fight. As your muscles fatigue, your body recruits its strongest fibers. That's the science. The experience is simpler: the workout catches you, and that's where the change happens.

And it starts with your breath. Lose control of your breathing and you fatigue faster every round — so the first thing we train is the breath itself, and the first things my clients improve are their breathing, their stamina, and their recovery time. For your whole life your body has told you how it breathes. Here, you tell it. That's strengthening your mind to control your body — not the other way around.

Built in South Texas. Proven in Boise. Enduro™ Strength & Conditioning is how I train every client at itrain208 — first-timers, athletes, and everyone rebuilding from the ground up.

The science behind Enduro™ Strength & ConditioningWhy 45 / 25 works — tap to expand
  • The 45-second window. A real near-failure set lasts about 45 seconds. Research on proximity to failure says ending a set close to failure is what drives the adaptation — no matter how many reps fit inside it. Enduro™ Strength & Conditioning standardizes the time, so every client lands in the same fatigue window.
  • Metabolic stress. 30–60 seconds of continuous tension floods the muscle with metabolites — a proven growth and conditioning signal. 45 sits dead center in that band.
  • 25 seconds is deliberately not enough. Your phosphocreatine — the fuel for hard efforts — only partially refills in 25 seconds. Every round starts deeper in the hole, and the conditioning compounds round after round.
  • The ratio. 45 / 25 is about a 1.8-to-1 work-to-rest ratio — right in the band studied in high-intensity functional training.
  • Breathe, or pay for it. The respiratory metaboreflex is real: when breathing gets sloppy, overworked breathing muscles trigger blood-flow theft from your arms and legs. Controlled breathing keeps the limbs fed — and speeds recovery between rounds.

“For your whole life your body has told you how it breathes. Today you will demand that it breathes harder & more frequently than ever.”— Coach Eli

Meet your coach

Built through struggle. Coaching with purpose.

Fitness wasn’t a hobby for me—it was how I stopped feeling powerless. Built in South Texas, I was bullied and hated feeling weak. So I answered with what I could control: a never-quit mindset and a work ethic that didn’t need permission. The gym became my safe place—and eventually, my proving ground.

Sports taught me how to compete: football, basketball, and baseball in high school; running, mountain biking, endurance racing, and river surfing today. But titles don’t drive my coaching. People do.

“I’m going to use this gym, this equipment, and these exercises to make you strong in your mind. After that, the rest is easy.”
— What I tell every client

Most people don’t fail because their bodies can’t do the work. They stall because doubt, inconsistency, and fear get there first. I coach the mind as hard as the body—building confidence, discipline, and resilience that carry far beyond the gym.

I’m also a father of three—Diego, Brooklyn, and Sienna—all born and raised in Boise. I learned some of my most important lessons in Freer, TX. Every challenge since has shaped how I show up today: helping people move beyond physical and mental insecurities, fall in love with the struggle, and become someone who doesn’t quit when it gets hard.
